St Werburghs Community Association is seeking a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Management Committee at the exciting time of refurbishment of the St Werburghs Centre.

The Centre has been granted £1m to build a new annexe and refurbish the existing building. The work started at the beginning of August. The improved Centre will benefit and accommodate more local organisations and individuals offering four new meeting rooms and better community spaces.

The board meets every six weeks on Tuesday evenings and the role of the treasurer is to maintain an overview of SWCA’s financial affairs, ensure its financial viability and ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.

A full role description is available on request. For an informal discussion please contact Linda Bell, the Director on 0117 955 1351 or e-mail

GoBellyDance classes are aimed at the beginner and general levels. You do not need to have any previous dance experience to join in.

Belly Dance accommodates lots of different fitness levels so no matter how unfit you are you will be able to Belly Dance. Big or small bellies are welcome in the class but you do not need to show them off! Please wear something comfortable which doesn’t restrict your movements like a loose skirt, jogging bottoms and a T-shirts. We usually dance in bear feet or you can wear soft soled shoes like ballet shoes. It’s always a good idea to bring a drink with you too.

Belly Dancing like other dance classes can have health benefits. Belly Dance is a great exercise and allows you to move your body in a different way to other classes. Despite its name it’s not just your belly that is used, you hips, chest, back and arms are all major elements of the dance. It’s great as a standalone class but it also complements other exercises. It has other benefits too; the classes give you an opportunity to forget your every day worries, learn something new, increase yourself confidence, make new friends and simply have fun!
