Barbados & Caribbean Friends Association
Saturdays 19:30 - 21:30 Barbados and Carribean Friends Association

Bi-monthly meetings. The association was set up to advance the education of the public in Bristol & Bath and in particular people of the Caribbean & Barbadian origin or descent, especially by the establishment of an Education, Study and Cultural Centre, and the publication of useful results of research into education under-achievement. Also to promote equality of opportunity and work towards eliminating all forms of discrimination and to deepen the sense of mutual responsibliity between parents, children and the host community. This organisation gives advice and help to people who are under stress. Also we assist in the welfare of children who are expelled from school and organise conferences for schools in Bristol and Bath.

Dementia Support Group
Tuesdays 13:30 - 15:30 (fortnightly)

Set up by the Alzheimers Society this new group gives people with dementia the opportunity to meet others in the same situation and to discuss their Dementia diagnosis. The sessions run in the afternoons for an hour once a fortnight and are facilitated by a trained member of staff and volunteer.

Khaas is an organisation which provides services to Asian families who have children with disabilities and special needs. Khaas seeks to improve the lives of South Asian disabled children, their carers and their families. Shift Bristol - 1 year Practical Sustainability Course

Shift Bristol's one year Practical Sustainability Course is running for its second year. The course brings together some of the most experienced tutors and practitioners in the UK to deliver an expanded Permaculture curriculum for 2 and a half days a week for a year. Tutors include Patrick Whitefield, Ben Law, Dr Chris Johnstone, Tony Wrench, Tim Foster, Mike Feingold, Sarah Pugh, Nick Osborne, Max Drake and many others. Modules on Permaculture, Organic Horticulture, Soil and Ecology, Woodland Management, Green Building, Energy, Community Engagement, Relocalisation, Group Dynamics and Creating Change. Currently the students on studying woodland management and relocalisation - the creation of local systems for all our needs; food, energy, economy etc. Term four will be kicking off in March with an exhilarating green build module that includes two days with Ben Law and an nine day roundhouse build with Tony Wrench at St Mungos in Bath.

The Guide Association is part of a worldwide Movement
which enables girls and young women to fulfill their potential to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities, delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

Brownie Meetings (During School Terms Only)
Equivalent of £1 per week paid per term. A balanced, varied and interesting programme of games, crafts, activities and badgework for 7-10 year old girls.
